Shannon Babb stopped the clock second fastest in Group A during

Brandon Sheppard, Josh Richards, Bobby Pierce, and Frank Heckenast,
Jr.!
At Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois on Friday evening,
a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs in a rain-postponed DIRTcar

(September
13, 2020) Shannon Babb, of Moweaqua, Illinois,
landed in victory lane for the third time in 2020 on Friday night,
September 11 at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio! After
winding up fifteenth in Thursday evening's $10,000 to win preliminary
event, Shannon turned up the wick on the competition on Friday at
the "Big E." He won his heat race and later led the majority
of the 30-lap feature from the outside of the front row to pocket
the $10,000 payday ahead of Josh Richards, Jonathan Davenport, Chris
Ferguson, and Kyle Strickler!
At Eldora on Saturday, September 12, the grand finale
of the 'Intercontinental Classic' was held at the 1/2-mile, high-banked
venue and a whopping $50,000 top prize was up for grabs. Shannon
was unfortunately hit hard by Josh Richards early in his heat race
and was forced to head pitside with heavy damage to his #18 Team
Zero by Bloomquist racecar. The "Moweaqua Missile" fortunately
received a high-point provisional to gain access into the 67-lap
headliner and started the contest from the outside of the ninth
row. Shannon was on a rail throughout the distance and eventually
moved all the way up to third by the checkered flag to trail only
victor Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Tim McCreadie! Complete

with a $10,000 to win showdown on Saturday at Fairbury Speedway.
After experiencing mechanical woes early in the night, Shannon switched

in the 50-lap headliner led to a disappointing nineteenth place
effort. At Peoria on Saturday evening in a similar $5,000 to win
shootout, Shannon placed second in his loaded heat race before moving
up to finish sixth in the 50-lapper behind only winner Brian Shirley,
Jeff Herzog, Dennis Erb, Jr., Todd Bennett, and Jason Feger. Complete

of the 30-lapper.
By virtue of racking up the fourteenth most points during the two
prelims, Shannon started Saturday's $40,000 to win 'Topless 100'
from the outside of the seventh row. Eying another race title, the
Moweaqua, Illinois star had blasted up inside of the top five by
the halfway mark in the race before going for an unfortunate spin
on lap 54. After pitting, Shannon returned to the racetrack to salvage
a twelfth place showing in the 100-lap affair. Complete results
