Babb Wins Again in Dome at America's Center to Close Out Season!
(December 22, 2019)
The 2019 campaign for the Shannon Babb Racing (SBR) team wrapped up from December 19-21 during the annual running of the 'Gateway Dirt Nationals' at The Dome at America's Center in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. A strong field of 86 competitors piled into the indoor facility to compete in the Dirt Late Model portion of the three-day spectacular, which kicked off on Thursday with qualifying. Shannon Babb laid down the fastest lap overall during time trials prior to winning his heat race and coming out on top of Friday's 20-lap preliminary feature to secure the $5,000 payday ahead of Rusty Schlenk, Patrik Daniel, Jonathan Davenport, and Gordy Gundaker!

After drawing the sixth starting spot before the drop of the green flag in Saturday night's $30,000 to win grand finale, Shannon was one of the favorites to sweep the weekend in front of the large crowd. Unfortunately, the Moweaqua, Illinois star was caught up in someone else's incident early in the 40-lapper, which resulted in heavy body damage to the #18 machine and a disappointing seventeenth place effort.
