Babb Ninth in Illini
100 Opener; Breaks Axle in $20k Finale

14, 2024) Next up on the racing calendar
for Shannon Babb was the annual running of the 'Illini 100' on April
12-13 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The World
of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series sanctioned the doubleheader
weekend, which started on Friday with a $10,000 to win opener that
drew 45 competitors. Shannon grabbed the fourth and final transfer
spot through his heat race prior to passing five competitors during
the 40-lap feature en route to a solid ninth place outing.
A whopping $20,000 first place prize was then on the line on Saturday
evening at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds facility. Shannon clicked off
the fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later
picked up a victory in heat race action. After starting the 60-lapper
from the outside of the front row, the Moweaqua, Illinois ace unfortunately
broke a right rear axle early in the contest and was dropped to
a disappointing twenty-sixth place performance. Complete results

Wraps Up Busy Trip to New Mexico
(January
15, 2024) Shannon Babb and his #18 SBR team
concluded the 2024 version of the 'Wild West Shootout' in four Super
Late Model specials from January 10-14 at Vado Speedway Park in
Vado, New Mexico. On Wednesday night in an $11,000 to win program,
Shannon won his heat race in preliminary action, led laps 2-3 of
the 30-lap main event, and settled for a strong third place podium
effort behind only victor Bobby Pierce and runner-up Garrett Alberson.
Shannon then backed that performance up on Friday evening with another
heat race win and a fourth place showing in the 30-lapper behind
only $11,000 victor Bobby Pierce, Garrett Alberson, and Cade Dillard.
At Vado on Saturday, Shannon clicked off the fastest
time in Group B during the qualifying session prior to running second
in his heat race and sixth in the $11,000 to win headliner. In Sunday's
finale, which boasted a $26,000 first place prize, the Moweaqua,
Illinois standout ran third in his heat race before knocking down
a thirteenth place finish in the 50-lap feature. During his stint
out west, Shannon was able to rack up a pair of Top Fives and four

Babb Begins 2024 Campaign
in Vado's Wild West Shootout

8, 2024) Following a very short two week
off-season, Shannon Babb Racing (SBR) kicked off their 2024 campaign
on January 6-7 in the first two night's of the 18th Annual 'Wild
West Shootout' at Vado Speedway Park in Vado, New Mexico. On Saturday
in the $11,000 to win opener, Shannon Babb placed sixth in his loaded
heat race, won his B-Main, and later moved past a handful of cars
during the 40-lap feature to earn a thirteenth place showing. At
Vado on Sunday evening with another $11,000 paycheck up for grabs,
Shannon grabbed the second transfer spot through his heat race before
finishing seventh in the 40-lapper. Complete results from the first

Shannon Babb Ends 2023
Season in Gateway Dirt Nationals
(December
17, 2023) The 2023 season finale for Shannon
Babb took place from December 14-16 in the 'Gateway Dirt Nationals'
at The Dome at America's Center in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.
The popular indoor spectacular got underway with a pair of $5,000
to win preliminary events and the Moweaqua, Illinois ace participated
in Thursday's program. Shannon knocked down the twelfth quickest
lap in Group A during qualifying, ran second in his heat race, and
later placed thirteenth in the final finishing order of the 25-lapper.
On Saturday with a $30,000 paycheck up for grabs in
the finale, Shannon finished second in his qualifier and later rolled
off from the inside of the seventh row in the 40-lap headliner.
At the end of the contest, Shannon was paid for a fourteenth place

Babb Scratches from
Rainy DTWC Weekend at Eldora
(October
23, 2023) The 2023 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series season came to a close on October 20-22 in a rainy weekend
at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The 43rd edition
of the 'Dirt Track World Championship' took place for the first
time at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant and the #18 team was
in the pit area to vie for the $100,000 first place prize money.
With inclement weather shuffling the order of events, Shannon Babb
kicked off the weekend on Saturday by posting the twenty-second
quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session.
When action resumed on Sunday afternoon at the "Big
E," Shannon opted to scratch from the remainder of the DTWC
program due to the weather and rugged track conditions. Complete

Shannon Babb in FALS Frenzy
(October
8, 2023) Shannon Babb Racing (SBR) made their
way to Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday
night, October 7. The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model
Series roared into town to preside over the annual running of 'FALS
Frenzy' and a $15,000 paycheck awaited the winner. Shannon Babb
fought driveline woes the entire evening and ultimately finished
seventh in both his heat race and his B-Main. Unfortunately, Shannon
was unable to make the start in the 50-lap feature that was won

Pair of Top Fives for
Shannon Babb in Land of Lincoln!
(September
16, 2023) Shannon Babb, of Moweaqua, Illinois,
entered a pair of Super Late Model specials in the Land of Lincoln
from September 12-15. On Tuesday night in 'One for the Road' at
Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, Shannon grabbed the fourth
transfer spot through his loaded heat race and later started eleventh
on the grid in the $23,023 to win Castrol FloRacing Night in America
Series main event. During the course of the 50-lap contest, Shannon
scooted past eight competitors to land on the podium in third behind
only race winner Bobby Pierce and runner-up Dennis Erb, Jr.!
At the Brownstown Bullring in Brownstown, Illinois
on Friday evening, a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs with the
MARS Championship Series. Shannon won his heat race in preliminary
action prior to rolling off from the pole position in the 50-lap
headliner. After leading the first circuit, Shannon ultimately slipped
back to finish in the fifth spot behind only victor Tanner English,
Jason Feger, Ryan Unzicker, and Dennis Erb, Jr. Complete results

Babb Earns Top Five
in World 100 Weekend Opener!
(September
10, 2023) The #18 team looked to conquer
the world from September 7-9 in the 53rd edition of the famed 'World
100' at the hallowed grounds of Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
The three-day crown jewel spectacular started with a pair of split-field,
$12,000 to win preliminary programs. In Thursday's opener, Shannon
Babb ran fourth in his heat race before winding up fifth at the
checkers in his 25-lap feature behind only winner Hudson O'Neal,
Jason Jameson, Ricky Thornton, Jr., and Mike Marlar. On Friday night
in a similar show, Shannon placed third in his heat race and sixth
in his 25-lapper.
When Saturday evening rolled around at the 1/2-mile,
high-banked Buckeye State speedplant, all eyes in the Dirt Late
Model industry were focused on who would emerge victorious in the
'World 100.' Shannon grabbed the third and final transfer spot through
his stacked heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the
seventh row in the $56,000 to win headliner. The Moweaqua, Illinois
standout was then unfortunately an early retiree in the 100-lap
affair and was officially paid for a twenty-eighth place performance.

3, 2023) Shannon Babb Racing (SBR) invaded
both Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury Speedway
in Fairbury, Illinois over the September 1-2 weekend for a pair
of $5,000 to win MARS Championship Series showdowns. On Friday night
at Farmer City, Shannon Babb placed fourth in his loaded heat race
prior to passing eight competitors during the 40-lap feature en
route to an impressive runner-up showing behind only victor Jason
Feger. At FALS on Saturday evening, Shannon advanced into the 40-lapper
through his B-Main and later worked past nine racecars during the
contest to salvage an eighth place performance. Complete results
